Sunshine Day!

I realize it's been quite some time since I've updated you on my journey through postpartum. You would think that since my baby is 8 months old that I'd be done dealing with the aftereffects of pregnancy and birth. Yeah, you'd think that but you'd be wrong!

Back in my September 5th post I write about becoming increasingly bald with postpartum hair loss. I shed EVERYWHERE. It wasn't adorable.

I'm mostly done shedding. What is happening now is that my thinned hair is growing back in. It's like my hairdo is partial mullet! Involuntary mullets are the best kind.

I amend...it's not a mullet. I'm the new Jan Brady.

Notice those side curls? I'm growing a set of those! When I'm postpartum I lose all the hair around my temples. When it grows back in, it grows in curly. The rest of my hair is fairly straight. The powers that be have decided I should grow a pair of ringlets to hang off the edges of my forehead. Right on!

My new growth is a good inch or more long. This means my pre-ringlets are curling straight up. Lunatic Fringe, dern tootin'! This time my hair is growing in with more grey than ever too. Grey hairs are sexy.

It's a good thing that I own a dress to go with my groovy look.

  3. I guess I am a little more toward the Telly Savalas head of hair look, but what little is left is grey. I didn't realize postpartum could involve that kind of physical changes. It has been a long time since Annie went through that phase.

  4. Becky -

I'm bored. Why not come on over to my place for a real party?

    Every night's a fantasy...

    *wink*

  5. Hi, I've lurked up to now but thought I'd say hello and comment on this one. :o)

Both my boys curled my hair. It even got curly in a different spot, the back of my neck (mostly underneath) after the first one and on the sides for the second. Not tight pretty curls either but big toilet paper roll wavy ones. Now if I don't condition the heck out of it or straight iron it when I wash it I look like a patchwork mop.

The birth of my daughter did nothing to my hair. Weird.

  6. I lost a third of my hair with all three of my kids-and let me tell you, that's a buttload of hair going down the drain. I screamed, I cried, I lamented, but once it's off your head, there's really not much you can do about it! All the yelling in the world didn't stop it coming out in handfulls. However, I think you posting a pic of the actual lil curls is in order! All my hair came back, but in the weirdest damned colours.

  7. Yeah... it's started and I am NOT happy to see my scalp with such clarity through my hair again, and lots of grey.

Sorry, it doesn't look too sexy on me.

  8. OMG!
I thought I was the only one with post-partum hair issues!

Not only do I have way more grey, but I've even seen a few DARK hairs, like almost black!
    WTF????
    I'm a natural red head!

    Don't get it ...
