No gold stars...

What is wrong with these children?

CBC News, Manitoba:

A 14-year-old Winnipeg boy suspects young bullies targeted his disability when they trapped him in a playground shed and set it ablaze on Saturday...

Apparently these kids can't get much more than a warning and counseling because of a law that states that you can't prosecute children under 12. The law also states that it works to make parents, or other responsible family members, accountable to the victims of their children's crimes.

Has anyone heard of any follow up stories about this? Any statements from the fire happy kid's parents?

I surely hope that the parents of the zippo clan aren't fighting their responsibility in this. If they are they need sterilization because, god help us, stupid breeds.

  1. That seriously made me tear up a little bit. How sad that that little boy has to endure that kind of treatment. Those kids can burn in hell for all I care. They're all going to grow up to be serial killers anyway.

  2. I hope the law there follows through and prosecutes the parents, if that is all they can do. Maybe then they will pay a little more attention to what their little darlings who will do nothing wrong are up to. Something needs to get through to them.

  3. Yikes!... but it sounds like they have had a series of fires set. I'm betting it's a crowd of little turds with one serious problem child (possibly a sociopath) who set the actual fire. I'm pretty sure that Arson is one of the markers for the more seriously disturbed kids when they are still young.

Not to detract from the fact that any kid who would bully and lock another kid (let alone a disabled kid) into a shed is a major turd with major problems.

  4. why can't we just arrest the parents...jail them for being jackholes...I want to bring back public humiliation....and not like how Paris Hilton spins it to her advantage...there was a time if you did something rude you'd be if you did that you'd get shot....and it might be by a 10 year we've let our culture stray.

    so sad.

  5. unbelievable. Those kids need some serious counselling!! and, a good swift kick in the butt!

  6. I missed this one, Becky. I shudder to think of the stupidity of kids. Here's hoping my TREMENDOUSLY well thought out parenting strategy works. Their parents have got to be mortified. Like you said, if not, look out--those kids are only getting started.

  7. Justin's Chapbook! Hey just saw on Bored Housewife that your husband's book is out. I'll get a copy or few in the next couple of days. Congrats to him. That's really awesome.

  8. Hmmm sounds like you have never spent time in Winnipeg...a. It is the most depressing place I have ever been and b. it is colder than a witch's tit (with all apologies to practioners of Wicca... it is a phrase from my Gram).
